Did You Know?

According to the Food Research and Action Center's (FRAC) School Breakfast Report Card, "Nationally, if the number of low-income children who participated in the School Breakfast Program increased from 46.7 to 60 for every 100 who participated in the lunch program, more than 2.5 million more children would eat a healthy school breakfast every day, and states would receive an additional $579 million in child nutrition funding."

Nutritious Breakfasts

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day – and now there's plenty of research to confirm it. Study after study shows that children who eat breakfast do better in school and have general overall better health than those who skip the morning meal. While there may not be time at home each morning to get a nutritious breakfast, more and more schools are participating in the national School Breakfast Program. Today, about 85,000 schools in the country provide breakfast at school to 10.5 million children each day. But there is so much potential for growth since over 31 million children participate each day in the National School Lunch Program.
