Are you prepared for emergency school closings?

As a school foodservice professional, you are likely aware that schools always need to be on alert for hurricanes and natural disasters and are encouraged to prepare for possible emergency school closings. The USDA strongly recommends that schools provide meals even if schools are closed due to an emergency. A "no congregate" regulation would allow students to receive up to two meals each day.

The information includes action plans to develop alternate meals and sample menus for several days.
