The School Nutrition Association (SNA) has been monitoring continued supply chain disruptions and their impact on school meal programs during the back-to-school season. Yesterday SNA sent recommendations to USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack on ways the Department can ease pressure on programs struggling with procurement problems.
Every day we are seeing news stories showing how school districts are finding ways to meet these challenges. For example, a news article reported in Monday’s SNA SmartBrief reported that a South Carolina high school is moving all school lunches from the cafeteria to the classroom. Prepackaged meals can be a solution for Classroom Feeding.
