To recognize the National School Lunch Program, serving nearly 30 million children each day, schools nationwide will celebrate National School Lunch Week from October 11-15, 2021. The theme, “WILD About School Lunch” highlights the importance of a healthy school lunch to a student’s success both in and out of the classroom.

Recent research shows children are getting their healthiest meals at school. National School Lunch Week will highlight the nutritious foods available daily at schools across the country. Thanks to pandemic waivers, school meals are free for all students this school year, and National School Lunch Week helps us educate parents and students about all the benefits of the lunch program.

As we navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain issues, we are reminded that students need regular school meals –this means more Classroom Feeding, grab & go meals and individually wrapped items so students can handle the food themselves. To help promote your school lunch program, the School Nutrition Association provides on its website a variety of material for this  campaign.
